Terms
The small print, in plain words.
These terms cover this website. The work we do for a client is covered by the written quote we both agree before anything starts.

What this website is
It describes the company and the work we do. Nothing is sold here, there is no account to open, and nothing you read on it is an offer we are bound to. A page can be out of date by the time you read it, so ask us before you rely on anything.
Our brands page links to websites we run ourselves. Each of them has its own terms, and those apply when you use it.
How work is agreed
We write down what we are going to build, what it costs and what happens at the end of each stage. That written quote, once you accept it, is the agreement between us. Nothing starts before then.
If the work changes, the price changes, and we say so in writing before we carry on.
Payment
Invoices are paid by card through Stripe, or by bank transfer where we agree it. Stripe takes the payment on its own pages and holds the card details. We never see or store a card number.
Our prices do not include VAT. If the company becomes VAT registered, VAT will be shown on the invoice from that date.
Who owns the work
Once you have paid for a stage, the source code and the content we wrote for you in that stage are yours. Accounts, domains and keys stay in your name throughout.
We keep the general tools and the common parts we bring with us, and we can use them again elsewhere. We do not reuse anything that is particular to your business.
The text, design and code of this website belong to us.
If something goes wrong
Tell us and we will put it right. If a piece of work does not match what we wrote in the quote, we fix it or we refund that stage.
Our total liability for a piece of work is limited to what you paid us for it. We are not liable for lost profit or for a decision you take on the strength of our advice, except where the law does not let us limit it, such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud. Nothing here removes the rights a consumer has under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Ending it
Either of us can stop the work by writing to the other. You pay for the stages finished and for work in progress up to that day. We hand over the code, the data and the accounts.
Which law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute.
How we handle personal information is on the privacy page.
